ChatUp FAQ

Making Songs

Q: How do I write a prompt that gets better songs?

A: No single prompt works best for every song, so it depends on the track you have in mind. Try a few versions, and borrow ideas from the sample prompts on the generator page.

For an easy place to start, mention:

Style or genre (the kind of track you want)

Mood (how it should feel)

A scene or purpose (where it plays, or the moment it’s for)

You can also pick one of ChatUp’s eight styles and a lyric mood, then add your own words on top. Mixing a style with an unexpected description often gives the most interesting takes.

Q: Can a song use my own voice?

A: No. ChatUp doesn’t take voice recordings and doesn’t clone voices. Choose vocals or instrumental, and describe the kind of singer you want in your prompt.

Q: Can I change only the lyrics and keep the same music?

A: Not yet. Every time you press Create song, ChatUp makes a brand-new take, so the melody and instruments can change too.

To get closer to what you want, keep the same style and description, switch to your own lyrics, and create another take to compare.

Both takes stay in your History, so you can keep the one you like best.

Song Results

Q: Why doesn’t the singer sound like what I asked for?

A: ChatUp reads your description as guidance, not a fixed setting, so a voice can come out differently from what you pictured. Describe the voice plainly near the start of your prompt (for example, “warm low male lead vocal”), then create another take.

Plans

Q: How do I upgrade to a paid plan?

A: Open the pricing page, choose weekly or yearly billing and confirm in checkout. You can also start from the upgrade screen that opens in the app when a tool needs a plan.

Q: Why was I charged a yearly amount?

A: The yearly plan is billed for the whole year at once. The weekly figure next to it is only a comparison. Checkout shows the exact price, billing interval and tax before you confirm, so check that you picked weekly if you want to pay each week.

Q: Why does my plan renew automatically?

A: ChatUp plans renew at the end of each period until you cancel, so your access doesn’t stop in the middle of a project. To stop the next renewal, open Account → Manage billing. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

Q: Can I buy songs without a plan?

A: No. Songs use credits, and credits come with a ChatUp plan. Subscribers can also buy extra credit packs when they run low.

Q: What happens to my songs when my plan ends?

A: Your songs stay in your account until you delete them or delete the account. Download the MP3s you want to keep on your own device.

Credits

Q: Why did my credit balance reset?

A: Paid plans include a weekly credit allowance that resets on your weekly reset date. Your account settings show your balance and the next reset date. Credits from packs you bought are kept separately and don’t expire.

Q: I’m on the yearly plan. How do I get my credits?

A: Yearly and weekly billing include the same plan, so you get the same weekly credit allowance every week of your year.

Q: Why do some songs and tools use more credits?

A: Some models and tools cost more to run than others. For songs, the cost shows on the Create song button, so you can see it before any credits are used.

Q: Where can I see how many credits I have left?

A: Open your account settings in the app. It shows your remaining balance, your weekly reset date and any credits from packs.

Accounts

Q: Why are my songs and plan missing?

A: You’re most likely signed in to a different account. Sign out, then sign in again with the same method and email you used when you subscribed.

Q: I have two accounts. Can they be combined?

A: Yes. When ChatUp offers it, open your Account page and press Combine accounts. Otherwise, email [email protected] and we can combine them.

Q: I deleted my account by mistake. Can it be restored?

A: No. When a deletion goes through, access ends on every device and the account’s data is deleted or de-identified, as described on the data deletion page.

Other Questions

Q: Which format do songs download in?

A: Songs download as MP3 files.

Q: I deleted a song by mistake. Can I get it back?

A: No. Deleting a song removes it from your account on every device, and it can’t be undone. ChatUp asks you to confirm first for that reason.

Q: Can I rename a song or change its cover?

A: Yes. Open the … menu on the song in your History to rename it, choose a cover, generate a new cover or remove it.

Q: Can I get a refund?

A: Refunds for part of a billing period aren’t given, except where the law or the store you paid through requires it. App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded through those stores. For a web plan, email [email protected].

Q: What should I do about a suspicious email that claims to be from ChatUp?

A: Don’t open its links or reply with personal details. Go to ChatUp by typing getchatup.com yourself, and forward the email to [email protected].
