Need an idea? Start from one of these
Most people have a song idea they will never record: a tune for a friend, a chorus about the dog, a theme for the group chat. The AI song generator closes the gap between the idea and something you can actually press play on.
You write a description the way you would explain it to a friend. ChatUp turns that into lyrics, a melody, an arrangement and a sung vocal, and gives you an MP3. You do not need to play an instrument or know what a bridge is.

How it works
Describe the song
One or two sentences: what it is about, who it is for, and the feeling you want. Names, places and small details make it sound like yours.
Leave the lyrics to ChatUp, or write them
Keep “write lyrics for me” and pick a serious, funny or heartfelt mood, or switch to your own words.
Choose a style
Pop, indie pop, hip-hop, R&B, electronic, rock, acoustic or classical. Automatic lets your description decide.
Create it
Press Create song. When it is finished it plays right on the page, and the MP3 is one tap away.
What makes a description work
The generator follows what you give it. “A happy song” gets you something pleasant and forgettable. “A happy song about my sister passing her driving test on the fourth try” gets you a song with a story in it.
- Who or what the song is about, by name.
- One or two concrete details only you would know.
- The mood, in plain words: hopeful, wistful, ridiculous, proud.
- How it should move: slow and quiet, or building to a big chorus.
Songs people make with it
Personal songs are the most common: birthdays, anniversaries, a goodbye for a colleague, a lullaby with a child’s name in it. Close behind are songs for fun, like a theme tune for a podcast, a song about a cat’s daily routine, or a chorus for a running joke. Songwriters use it too, to hear a rough version of an idea before they spend a day on it.
What you get back
A finished track with vocals, the lyrics it sang, and artwork. Every song is saved to your ChatUp account, so you can play it again, rename it or download it later. If the first take is not right, change a detail in the description and make another.
Frequently asked questions
- What is an AI song generator?
- A tool that writes and performs a song from a text description. ChatUp’s writes the lyrics, composes the music and sings it, and gives you an MP3 you can play and download.
- Do I need any music experience?
- No. A plain description is enough. If you do write music, you can bring your own lyrics and still let ChatUp handle the melody and the performance.
- Can I put someone’s name in the song?
- Yes. Put the name in your description and the lyrics usually use it. If it has to appear in a particular line, switch to your own lyrics and write that line yourself.
- How much does a song cost?
- Each song uses credits from your ChatUp plan. After you sign in, the Create song button shows the number of credits before anything is charged.
- Can I use the songs I make?
- ChatUp does not claim ownership of what you create, and the Terms let you use your output, including commercially, within the Terms and the law. Similar output can be generated for other people, so it is not guaranteed to be unique.
