AI Prompt Generator
Answer a few fields and get a clear, structured prompt for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any chatbot.
A good prompt tells the model what you want, who it should be, what it needs to know, and how the answer should look. Most weak answers trace back to a prompt that skipped one of those. This free AI prompt generator walks you through each part with a short form, so you stop typing a single vague sentence and hoping the chatbot fills in the gaps.
Fill in the goal, the role you want the AI to play, background context, the audience, the output format, tone, length, anything to avoid, and an example or two. The tool assembles those into one structured prompt with a copy button. Everything runs in your browser: nothing you type is sent anywhere, and the result works in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other chatbot.
How to use it
- Describe your goal in one sentence, then pick the role you want the AI to take.
- Add context, audience, output format, tone, and length. Leave blank any field that does not apply.
- List things to avoid and paste an example of the output you want, if you have one.
- Copy the assembled prompt and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or ChatUp.
What makes a good prompt
Chat models do exactly what the words in front of them suggest, so a prompt that names the goal, the role, the audience, and the format gets a more useful answer than one that only names the topic. Context matters as much as instructions: a model that knows why you are asking, and who will read the result, makes fewer wrong assumptions.
Constraints and examples do the rest of the work. Telling the model what to leave out saves a round of edits, and one short example of the output you want is usually worth more than a paragraph describing it.
- Goal: the one thing you want back, stated as an outcome
- Role: the expertise or point of view the model should adopt
- Context: what the model needs to know that it cannot guess
- Audience: who reads the result and how much they already know
- Format: bullets, table, email, code, a set number of options
- Constraints: length, tone, and anything to avoid
- Examples: a sample of the output you liked, or one you did not
Prompt template you can reuse
Every prompt this tool produces follows the same skeleton. Once you know it, you can type it from memory when the form is more than you need:
Leave out any line that does not apply. A prompt with four clear lines beats one with eight vague ones, and you can always follow up in the chat to tighten the result.
- Act as [role].
- I need [goal].
- Context: [what you are working on and what has already been tried].
- Audience: [who it is for and what they know].
- Format: [length, structure, headings, table, bullet list].
- Tone: [plain, formal, playful, technical].
- Avoid: [jargon, filler, assumptions, specific words].
- Example: [a sample of what good looks like].
Frequently asked questions
- Does the prompt work with ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini?
- Yes. The generator produces plain text with no special syntax, so it works in any chatbot, including all five models in ChatUp.
- Is anything I type uploaded?
- No. The tool runs entirely in your browser. Your fields are assembled on your device and never sent to a server.
- Do I have to fill in every field?
- No. Fill in what helps and leave the rest blank. The goal is the one field that matters most.
- Why not just type my question into the chatbot?
- For a quick question you should. The form earns its keep on tasks with a specific audience, format, or set of constraints, where a vague first prompt usually costs two or three follow-ups.
