ChatUp MCP
Use ChatUp’s image, video and music tools from the AI assistant you already work in. Connect Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or any MCP agent with one key.
Connect your AI tool
Pick your assistant and follow three steps. Your key stays in Settings → Connections.
Use ChatUp with ChatGPT
ChatGPT connects apps by signing you in, which ChatUp MCP doesn’t offer yet. Until then, OpenAI’s Codex can use ChatUp with a key.
- 1
Create a ChatUp key
Open Settings → Connections, name the connection, choose whether it may create, and copy your key. It is shown only once.
Open Settings → Connections - 2
Add ChatUp to Codex
Save your key in an environment variable, then register the server. Codex sends the key with each request.
- 3
Start creating
Ask Codex to use ChatUp. It checks the credit cost first, then brings the finished image, video or song back to your chat.

Frequently asked questions
What is ChatUp MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use outside tools. ChatUp MCP gives your assistant ChatUp’s image, video and music tools, using your ChatUp account and credits.
What can my assistant do with ChatUp?
It can check your credits, list the models you can use, get a credit quote, create images, videos and songs from a description, follow a creation until it’s done, list your recent creations and fetch download links.
Which AI tools can connect today?
Any MCP client that accepts a Streamable HTTP server URL and an Authorization header, including Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Clients that only connect by signing in, such as Claude.ai and Claude Desktop connectors or ChatGPT apps, are coming soon.
Do I need a key?
Yes. Create one in Settings → Connections. Each key is shown once, lasts 30 days and can be disconnected at any time. You choose whether it can only read or can also create, and how many credits one creation may use.
How does pricing work?
Creating through MCP uses the same credit balance and the same prices as ChatUp on the web, and needs the same plan access. Your assistant can get a quote before it creates. Checking your account or listing creations doesn’t use credits.
Where do my creations go?
Your assistant gets the result back in the chat, and every creation is also saved to your ChatUp history, where you can view, play or download it.
Can I give my assistant a photo to work from?
Not yet. ChatUp MCP creates from text descriptions today. To edit a photo or animate an image, use the image and video tools in ChatUp.
Can I use ChatUp alongside other MCP servers?
Yes. ChatUp is one server among the others in your client’s MCP settings. Ask your assistant to use ChatUp when you want it to create.
Bring ChatUp into your next conversation
Create a key, add ChatUp to your assistant and ask for your first image, video or song.
